I have recently started playing a rpg for for the Xbox 360 called Resonance of Fate. It is from Tri-Ace, the same deveopers as Star Ocean the Last Hope.
I am not too far into it as of yet, but so far it is a pretty sweet game.
The battle system is turn based and focuses on guns and explosives. Sorry, no swords and shields in this game. It is definitely a unique combat system that Tri-Ace has done well.
Graphics are a huge factor I consider when I buy 360 role playing games. That being said, the graphics are not as great as the promotion team made them out to be, but they are not the worst. With all the power of the Xbox 360 however, I think they could have been done better.
The story so far is cool. The world was nearly destroyed by mankinds stupidity and the only way to save Earth is to build a big air filter type tower. Only things in the radius of the giant air-purifer can survive. Eventually people forget how to maintain this machine and it eventually begins to fail.
You play as a young orphan who turns into a hunter. Hunters are basically glorifired messengers until the tower starts to fail. Then the main characters are thrust into the story to learn the secrets of the tower and eventually save the world.
All in all, a pretty cool game so far. I think it may go into my top 10 Xbox 360 rpg list
